What Happens When Capital Reaches the Real Economy

We’ve just closed Q1 2026—and the results from the adOpes Microleasing Fund show what happens when capital reaches the real economy in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

In just three years:
• USD 3.2M deployed into productive assets
• 19,878 assets financed across 3,782 microleases
• 18,900+ people benefiting from increased productivity and income
• USD 2.7M additional capital mobilized by local partners

But the story goes deeper.

Our model is proving that rural SACCOs and MFIs—and by extension the farmers they serve—are bankable:
• Portfolio at risk (90 days): 4.8% — outperforming local benchmarks
• Strong repayment flows already recycling capital into new investments

We’re also seeing meaningful climate and gender impact:
• 2,100+ climate-smart assets financed
• 6,580+ tCO₂ reduced from biogas and solar assets
• 65% of assets leased by women

And the demand is accelerating:
• Pipeline has doubled to USD 47.7M across 96 SACCOs and MFIs

This is what scalable, locally anchored inclusion and climate finance look like.

The next phase is clear: grow the vehicle, deepen partnerships, and unlock more capital for productive use across East Africa.
